Positions includes removing soiled linens from all patient areas Special care unit, clinic areas and ancillary areas, taking all soiled linen to the specialty room, collecting clean linens to place in the linen room distributing clean linen to all patient areas, special care unit clinic areas ancillary areas and guest rooms. Job Responsibilities (Listed in order of importance) Time Spent Essential Function 1. Practice courtesy and patience with guest, coworkers and staff. Exhibits a positive attitude among departmental and organizational goals expressed through actions and words. Follow instructions written and verbal. Practice courtesy and patience with guests, co-workers and staff. Wear clean, neat uniforms and practice regular hygiene. 20 2. Prior to start of shift, check through the hospital and guest room closets to ensure what linens will be needed to each specific area. Upon daily delivery of clean linen count carts and mark on sheet provided. Fill all clean linen carts with clean linen for patient areas, guest rooms, special care unit, clinic areas and guest rooms. 15 3. Retrieve clean and folded linens from laundry room as necessary. Place clean linen on designated shelves in linen room. Clean linen room shelves floor and organize shelves. Place empty carts on each floor where needed. 15 4. Retrieve all soiled linens from each floor. Place (full carts only) in soiled linen storage room. Perform periodic inventory of all linen rooms, patient areas, special care unit, and clinic and guest room floors. 15 5. Assure that all containers are packaged properly before removal from floors. Transport infectious waste in special containers to bio-hazard storage room for disposal. Remove regular waste from all floors and transport regular waste to compactor. 15 6. May perform other environmental services duties as assigned. Clean equipment daily. Notify supervisor or manager of equipment in need of repair. Place note on equipment stating what repair is needed. 20 7. Can be relied on (attendance, tardy, early leaves). Attend all departmental, and organizational meetings, Adhere to break/lunch time policy (go when scheduled and in designated areas). TOTAL 100% The housekeeper works as a member of the CTCA Environmental Services team in an effort to provide non-medical sanitation support as a contribution to positive patient outcomes. Positions include regular discharge, alien/guest room, departmental, general cleaning and other assigned scheduled cleaning tasks.
